Principles, technologies, and applications of plasmonic biosensors

Plasmonic materials and phenomena have been widely studied applied in multiple fields for a long time. One of the most promising applications is engineering biosensor devices, offering label-free real-time analysis biomolecular interactions with excellent performances. In this tutorial, we provide pedagogical review working principles plasmonic biosensors, main fabrication methods, instrumentation, general guidelines their development. Special focus placed on performance characterization assessment, as well sensor surface biofunctionalization. end, discuss common procedure to develop validate biosensors relevant biomedical environmental purposes future perspectives terms boosting capabilities integration point-of-care platforms.
